Jaw Orthopedics
His philosophy is to attempt to find causes and treat them – as oppose to treating just the effects of a problem. Here at Robina Village Dental Care you have access to – Functional Jaw Orthopedics (aka FJO). Dr Dan has spent over 150 hours of continuing professional development in this filed attending seminars and speaking with lecturers from all over the world.
This form of orthodontics attempts to ensure that the upper and lower jaws are the correct size, shape and position for the individual patient. This can result in a balanced jaw joint (see TMJ Treatment below for more).
TMJ Treatments
When the TMJ is balanced and the jaws are in their correct positions, a number of health benefits may be gained. These can include, reduced head and neck pain, less chance of migraines, decreased chance of tooth clenching or grinding (Bruxism), optimal breathing capacity, less chance of sleep apnoea.Even nocturnal bed-wetting can be caused by low oxygen saturation and so can sometimes be cured by orthopaedic correction of jaw imbalances which can open up the airway.
